Road Captains,
Here is a place to put info for check rides. You should be able to edit this post (without replying). I have pinned this topic, so it will stay at the top.

Need to do Check Rides
Due to the fact I spend up to 2 weeks a month TDY and all these exercises here in Korea, I was asked to post the dates I am available to do the check rides. Here are the dates through April: 22Feb, 21-22Mar, 28-29Mar, and any weekend in April except for the 11th (my 30th Birthday) and 12th (hangover day). I have about 5 yrs of riding experience, bought the new ride last summer and put 5k+ miles on it since July, I drive here in town just about everyday whether going to emart or just from my offpost apt to the office (500 miles since Nov). Last group ride was the Toys for Tots ride in Dec.

Given the changes we've made in the MMP which established that the check ride will be a longer ride than in the past and a rider need only participate in the check ride and in a maximum of 2 group rides to wear the patch, tehe check rides are now tentatively scheduled for most every Sunday, but they are not automatic. If you need a check ride, you need to contact either the Safety Officer, a Road Captain or your Mentor by the Wednesday before the Sunday you wish to do the check ride so the details can be set up. A check ride requires the rider, the Mentor and someone who knows the route so at least three bikes and riders are involved. Tehe route includes an on post section, an in town traffic section, a twisty road section, a country road section and a limited access road section now so takes longer (2 - 3 hours) and it gives the mentor a better chance to assess the riders capabilitires.

Welcome to Korea and I know you have been here a while. I just got back from the leave from the states and I'm looking at doing check rides every Sunday from now until I leave. We have a quick one this Sunday and if the poker ride does not interfear with next Sunday then we will one then. I will talk with the Road Capts. this weekend to see if we can work some thing out on a Frinday afternoon. take a half day off from work or some thing like that.

For those who need it, Steve Gunn and I are running a check ride on Sunday, 19 April. Just be at the Townhouse at 0900 ready to ride. Can take up to 3 hours depending on your level of demonstrated skill.

My schedule is a little shifty this next month. I should be around on Sunday mornings for check rides, however. If anybody needs one give me a call and we'll get it scheduled. Reach me at 010-2458-9880.

Riders, Mentors,
I will be conducting a check ride on Sunday, February 28th. 0900 at the Townhouse for all that would like to join. This is weather permitting, however; if it's raining, no check ride. Anybody that has a new bike that needs a check ride, new riders, mentors, or just wants to conduct a refresher. If it's nice, we might even jaunt over to Namhansansang. Hope to see some new faces there!

I think we have some other new riders that may need check rides. I'm not tracking that sort of thing, but have seen some posters on the forums wanting to ride that I don't recall having check rides.

All right folks, I know there were 2~3 people who wanted a check ride. Billy, myself, and maybe one other mentor/captain will conduct a Check Ride on Friday (21 May) at 1600 hours. We will start at the Town House, make a trip around post, then drive off-post. Should take just under 1 hour. Please let me know if you plan to show or if not (three of you I know of, but can't for the life of me remember all those names!):
