Been up to my hip pockets in a job change - hope I can still sign up for the ride. One person for Samcheok and two persons at Daejon Beach. Who do I pay??

Freeman,

FYI, our stop on the West Coast has been changed to Yeonpo Beach to link up with SBU. The SBU event costs $30 per rider/couple. You can pay me the $30 on Wed night at the meeting.

Not sure if Greyhound is collecting the money for rooms or we will just pay when get there.

It was discussed between a few of us to just take up a collection once the group arrived. There will still be a call ahead likely to make sure they have rooms, but there are always rooms during this time of the season.

Freeman,
It is the other way around. We will be joining SBU at Yeonpo Beach on Sunday, instead of going to Daecheon Beach.

Guys,

I probably won't be able to make the meeting (BRC @ K-16), but count me in for the ride...all days.

On a somewhat related note (for me anyway), the heads of the bolts that attach the foot peg/brake pedal to the frame snapped off during my accident, but the rest of the bolts are still in frame.

Auto crafts shop can't help with this...I know from experience. I took my bike to Sim's down in Toegyero and they got the bolt out at a reasonable cost, then gave me a replacement bolt.

Entry on home page says Safety Brief at 0650. Does this mean we're leaving at 0705? Or are departing at 0700 and changing our SOP which has always been 15 minutes before departure for the Safety Briefing?

If there are objections, we can allow the full 15 minutes for the ride brief, even though it only takes less than 10 and we are standing around for the last 5 minutes. I'll defer to the safety officer is the full 15 minutes is desired.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting it out with a screw extractor set A.K.A Easy Outs. Then I took the bolts from the passenger foot pegs and used them to re-attach the front peg/brake. Just received replacement bolts yesterday from Zanottis. Added some high temp black paint to the exhaust heat shield, and she's up and running again. New Le Pera seat also came in yesterday - can't wait to try it out this weekend!

BOLD 1st day ride but may need to reconsider to allow for storm/road damage, downed trees, etc. May want to consider a more direct route, we can always detour through mountains near Samcheok if we make good time or even loop around Taebek Mt. Many good roads on 1st day route but low priority to clear after typhoon and if blocked we will have to backtrack and lose a lot of time.

"BOLD 1st day ride but may need to reconsider to allow for storm/road damage, downed trees, etc"

Or we can pack a chain saw, clear the roads when needed and ride faster the rest of the time!

Main road route may be better since they will be cleared sooner and therefore safer so I tend to agree with Dana. We can save the bold route for the next run to East coast.

Ok, I'm low tech...extremely low tech, so I can't open and view the route. Are we going out Route 6 and stopping at the "Waffle House" rest stop? Just checking if I should eat breakfast or wait for a "waffle". Really looking forward to this ride. The weather looks like it'll cooperate and not dump buckets of moisture down upon us......so HOOOOOOOYYYYYAAAAAHHHH!!!

I like Bob's solution. Ironbutter's never do anything the easy way!
